Seattle Parks and Recreation will close all recreation facilities today, March 13, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The closure will take place to allow for an employee meeting for all staff regarding the shooting that took place at Parks’ Densmore Ave. N facility on Friday, March 8. This meeting will allow staff to have time to discuss issues with the management team and with counselors.
The affected facilities will include community centers, pools, environmental learning centers and the Amy Yee Tennis Center. In our area the closure will affect Ballard Community Center (6020 28th Ave NW), Ballard Pool (471 NW 67th St) and Discovery Park Learning Center (3801 Discovery Park Blvd).
