Original Post:

Local musician Mark Pickerel’s guitar was stolen from his car at approximately 12 a.m. this morning. The car was parked on NW Market St near NW 24th St when the burglary took place.

Pickerel has been a fixture in the local music scene and has played in well known Seattle bands The Young Evils, Screaming Trees and The Tripwires. Pickerel described the guitar as “his only guitar love”. “I wrote every song of mine on it,” said Pickerel.

The acoustic guitar (pictured) is a late 1960s Washburn Prairie Song and has much sentimental value.

If you have any information about the burglary or know the whereabouts of the guitar please contact Pickerel via his Facebook account or contact the SPD North Precinct Burglary/Theft department at (206) 684-5735.

Alternatively, email us at tips@myballard.com and we will pass on the information.
