Seattle Parks to replace wood chips with gravel at Golden Gardens dog park

Seattle Parks and Recreation will be doing some work on the Golden Gardens dog off-leash area for the next week. They’ll be removing about 450 cubic yards of wood chips and replacing the wood chips with gravel for better drainage, according to Joelle Hammerstad with Seattle Parks. She says the park will be closed for a few days later this week while the wood chips are replaced.

Seattle Parks will store the wood chips temporarily in the middle parking lot at Golden Gardens, which Hammerstad says will take up about 15 parking spots. They expect to dispose of the wood chips by Friday, May 24.
