Robyn Emery selected by Norwegian Community as their Seafair Princess

Posted by Meghan Walker on May 24th, 2013

The Norwegian Community in Ballard has selected Robyn Emery to represent them this year as a Seafair Princess. Emery, soon to graduate from the Ocean Research College Academy at Everett Community College and Kamiak High School in Mukilteo, plans to attend Northwest University in Kirkland to pursue a degree in biology and pre-med.

Emery also serves as the current Queen of Leif Erikson Lodge. Her platform for Seafair will be Seattle Children’s Hospital, which is where her 7-year-old brother successfully underwent treatment for pediatric cancer. A statement from the Leif Erikson Lodge tells us that Emery studies Norwegian language and spent five weeks in Norway for a cultural homestay last summer. She is conversational in the language and is currently reading the Harry Potter series – in Norwegian.

Congratulations to Robyn!
