Farm fresh deliveries by sailboat start this weekend

paula_jenson_loading_bicycleThe local produce delivery company Salish Sea Trading will resume its deliveries for the summer starting on Sunday. The trading company operates using community-shared sailboats, transporting locally produced goods around the Puget Sound. They’ll be starting up the season this weekend with CSA (community supported agriculture) boxes of veggies arriving at Aster Coffee Lounge on Sunday, June 30 between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. This week’s delivery will include all-organic beets, broccoli, butter lettuce, cilantro, carrots, kale, leaf lettuce, and sugar snap peas from Dharma Ridge Farms in Port Ludlow.

Here is their Ballard drop-off schedule for the next several months:

  • Sunday, July 13th
  • Sunday, July 27th
  • Sunday, August 11th
  • Sunday, August 25th
  • Sunday, September 8th
  • Sunday, September 22nd
  • Sunday, October 6th
  • Sunday, October 20th
  • Sunday, November 24th (Thanksgiving!)
