The weekend is here and brings with it many festivities including SeafoodFest, Art Walk and more. Check out what’s happening in Ballard this weekend and enjoy!

Friday, July 12:

  • 5th Annual SeafoodFest Kickoff BBQ at Ballard Elks (6411 Seaview Avenue NW) from 6:30 p.m. – 10 p.m. Tickets are $50 and include all you can eat BBQ and three drink tickets. Funds raised help the families of fishermen lost at sea with grief counseling and college scholarships.  For more information and to purchase tickets click here.
  • Ballard Knitters for the Homeless Event at Aster Coffeehouse (5615 24th Ave NW) from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Knitting community and warmers for the homeless! Learn to knit or learn new knitting skills!  If you have yarn and needles, please bring some for yourself and some to share.  No prior experience necessary! Click here for more information.

Saturday, July 13:

  • 20th Anniversary Celebrations at Conor Byrne Pub (5140 Ballard Ave NW). Drink specials all day long. Traditional Irish music from McSorley’s Reeks and Crumac in the evening. Tickets for the evening event are $10. Click here for more details and to purchase tickets.
  • Senior Dog Seminar at Ahimsa Dog Training (925 NW 49th St Suite C) from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Join Lori Stevens for a great day of tips for your senior dog. Click here for more details.
  • Interbay P-Patch U Pick Lavender Festival from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at 2451 15th Ave W. Over 14 varieties of lavender, for culinary, decorative or craft uses. Culinary lavender seed available, in addition to lavender wreaths & sachets. Also dahlia plants for sale.
  • Ballard SeafoodFest all over Ballard from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. Seafood, festivities and more. Click here to check out the line up of events.
  • Ballard BeerFest from 12 p.m. – 9 p.m. at 22nd Ave NW and Ballard Ave. $5 for a 14 oz. beer from many local breweries. Click here for more details.
  • Picnic at the SPD North Precinct (10049 College Way N) from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. Picnic at the Precincts provide an opportunity for each precinct’s surrounding business and residential communities to come together and enjoy a day of celebration with their local police.   • 6th Ave NW Block Party at 6223 6th Ave NW from 4 p.m. Fun for the whole family with bouncy castle, cream pie jousting, beer and BBQ. All are welcome to attend.
  • Ballard Art Walk is on at many businesses and art galleries all over Ballard from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Click here to check out more details.
  • AVA Ballard Grand Opening Party at 5555 14th Ave NW from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Food will be featured including fresh fish tacos and oysters and local Ballard brews and spirits will be on offer.   • Ahimsa Dog Training 10 Year Anniversary Party at 925 NW 49th St Suite C from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Snacks, games, drawings for prizes, discounted class registrations, short educational activities, including leash walking (bring a leash and clicker if you want to participate – no dogs though!) Sunday, July 14:

  • Ballard Farmer’s Markets on Ballard Ave from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Click here to check out this week’s specials.
  • Free Admission at the Nordic Heritage Museum (3014 NW 67th St) all day. This free day at the Museum is in celebration of a successful GiveBIG 2013.
  • Ballard SeafoodFest all over Ballard from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. Seafood, festivities and more. Click here to check out the line up of events.

  • Bastille Day Bike Ride and Picnic organized by Hub and Bespoke from 12 noon – 3 p.m. The 5 mile ride starts in Capitol Hill, makes a few stops in town for wine, cheese, and baguettes, and then concludes at Gasworks Park. All are welcome and it is free to participate. Riders are encouraged to bring some cash for picnic purchases. Click here to learn more.
