Burglars take precious items from Ballard jeweler’s studio

My Ballard reader Kerry emailed in to report that local jeweler Stephanie Tomczak Selle’s jewelry studio at Ballard Works (2856 NW Market St) was burgled on Wednesday, July 17. Selle shared the studio with fellow jeweler Aran Galligan, who also had items taken.

“Yesterday my studio was burglarized, They totally cleaned us out metal, stones, tools, jewelry. Right now I am trying to pick up the pieces and figure out how to move forward,” writes Selle.

A police report has been made about the incident and SPD have advised the jewelers to check pawn shops, craigslist, ebay and other sites for the stolen goods.

Selle and Galligan only moved into the new studio space in June this year writing that they were “excited to be a part of the Ballard Works building and community” on their Facebook studio warming event page on June 8.

Selle has put together a list of the stolen items in the hope that locals will be able to assist in the search.

If you have any information about the burglary contact SPD North Precinct at (206) 684-0850 or email us at tips@myballard.com and we will pass on the information.
