The Seattle Department of Transportation will be closing the sidewalk on the northbound, eastern side of the bridge this morning while crews pump concrete as part of the seismic retrofit project. SDOT says all lanes will remain open, but that the sidewalk will be closed from 8 a.m. to about 9 a.m.
The bridge seismic retrofit work, which is ongoing, is not expected to require any more lane closures while the work is being done. The project is funded by the Bridging the Gap transportation levy approved by Seattle voters in Nov. 2006. Learn more about the bridge rehabilitation here.
