On Saturday, Sept. 21, there will be a solar energy informational session and self-guided tour in Ballard. The Seattle Solar Tour kicks off at the Ballard Library with a presentation at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, followed by a tour that will take participants to eight homes around the neighborhood. The tour will show examples of homes that have installed rooftop solar electric systems, solar hot water systems, and even electric vehicles. The informational session at the Ballard Library will feature a presentation on Solar in Seattle, where solar experts will be answering questions about solar energy. The informational session will be from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. and the tour is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Seattle Solar Tour is hosted by Northwest SEED, a non-profit organization that promotes clean energy among communities.
