Happy Veterans Day!

The team at My Ballard would like to say thank you to all veterans who are currently serving or who have served our country. We are all celebrating your sacrifices and achievements today. Here is a special story sent in by one of our My Ballard readers:

“Here is photo of my dad (pictured below), Richard Linvog, during WWII my Dad was a QM3 on the USS Mohopac in the Aleutian Islands, and enlisted right after his 21st birthday. He, his brothers and father Elias Linvog (who immigrated from Norway to Ballard in 1910) were in the halibut fishing industry out of Seattle for many years. When they weren’t fishing, they were up on the family farm in Sterling, between Burlington and Sedro Woolley,” writes My Ballard reader Jennifer Murray.

vetMy Ballard reader Denise Lyon email in a photo of her Pop (below) who served in the navy. Lyon reported that her parents were the first couple to be married on the Space Needle.
