Locals get their “Grog” on Ballard Ave

grogBallard Annex Oyster House opened their back bar, aptly called “Grog”, at their 5410 Ballard Ave NW location on Friday night. The bar has the classic Ballard sailor-inspired theme complete with a nautical themed cocktail list.

Grog is located in the Back Bar of the Oyster House in the old Ballard news printing press building. The space is beautifully decorated with wooden flooring and has a sophisticated atmosphere.

If you are looking for eats, the menu features six to eight small plates which are ever-changing. If drinks are on your mind, the menu includes a variety of cocktails and hot and cold punch bowls (grog). Friday’s grog menu comprised of the hot “Ben Nevis,” (floral sonnet, fleur, lemon juice, honey) and the cold “Sea Legs” (pineapple rum, fleur, maraschino, lemon and simple syrup).

Grog is now taking bookings for parties and events. In terms of space, Grog can seat up to 60 people for a sit down event, or 80 people for a stand-up cocktail style event. When booking an event at Grog hosts have the option of choosing food from the menus of Grog, Kickin’ Boot Whiskey Kitchen, The Matador and Ballard Annex Oyster House.

Grog will be open Thursday to Sunday 5 p.m. t0 close and can be booked for events Monday to Wednesday. The bar has a separate entrance on 22nd Ave NW.
