Memoir writing workshop on tonight at Ballard Library

DgBgHNtBkxdKS9fHPusOQsOeLocals will have a chance to learn the intricacies of memoir writing during a workshop on tonight from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Ballard Library (5614 22nd Ave NW). The workshop will be facilitated by local memoirist and teacher Theo Pauline Nestor.

During the workshop Nestor will guide attendees through writing activities from her new book Writing Is My Drink: A Writer’s Story of Finding Her Voice (and a Guide to How You Can Too).

Nestor is the author of How to Sleep Alone in a King-Size Bed: A Memoir of Starting Over and has had her work published in the New York Times, The Huffington Post, Under the Sun, and Brain, Child magazine. She is currently a professor of memoir-writing in the University of Washington’s Continuing and Professional Education department and the founder and host of the Wild Mountain Memoir Retreat.

The workshop is free of charge and no prior writing experience is required. Attendees are encouraged to bring a paper and pen, or a laptop if you prefer.
