La Carta de Oaxaca celebrates 10 years on Ballard Ave

gloriaperezlacartamezcaleriaoaxaLa Carta de Oaxaca first opened its doors at 5431 Ballard Ave NW in December 2003 and it is time to celebrate a decade of service in our neighborhood.

To celebrate the milestone La Carta de Oaxaca is offering a week-long happy hour until Saturday, December 21.

This week’s happy hour includes specials on mezcal flight and shots and top-shelf tequila margaritas, plus complimentary bar snacks with a mezcal flight order. This speical happy hour is available in the bar and dining room from lunch to dinner. A special anniversary menu will also be offered this week and live serenade music will kick off tonight at 6 p.m.

La Carta de Oaxaca will also be open on Sunday, December 22 from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. with brunch options and a special holiday menu.

“La Carta de Oaxaca does not usually have a happy hour and is normally closed on Sundays, so we hope our customers can take part in the celebration,” says Roberto Dominguez, general manager of La Carta de Oaxaca and Mezcaleria Oaxaca. “We’re very grateful for the continued support.”

After 10 years La Carta de Oaxaca (and Mezcaleria Oaxaca) remains a family effort. Gloria Perez (pictured above) continues to run the kitchen as the head chef, and her son Roberto Dominguez has managed the restaurants since their respective openings.

La Carta de Oaxaca is open for lunch from Tuesday-Saturday, 11:30 a.m. – 3 p.m., and is open for dinner Monday-Thursday, 5 p.m. – 11 p.m., and Friday-Saturday, 5 p.m. – midnight.
