The weekend is here! Enjoy it in Ballard at these fantastic events:

Friday, January 17:

  • Nordic Film Festival at SIFF Film Centre in the Seattle Center from 6 p.m. The festival features feature-length films, documentaries, and short films from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Greenland. Tickets are $10 for general admission, $8 for Museum Members, SIFF Members and Students. Click here for more details.
  • Comedy Sportz Seattle Show at Ballard Underground (2220 NW Market St) at 10 p.m. Click here for more details and to buy tickets.

Saturday, January 18:

  • Project Heron Watch Open Day at Discovery Park Visitor Center (3801 Discovery Park Blvd) from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Do you know your neighbor is a heron? Come learn about Project HeronWatch and ways you can protect the Great Blue Heron, Seattle’s official bird. All are welcome to attend this free event.

Sunday, January 19:

  • Ballard Farmers Markets along Ballard Ave from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Click here to see this week’s specials.

  • National Popcorn Day at KuKuRuZa Gourmet Popcorn (2211 NW Market St) all day. The team will be celebrating with unlimited samples of their gourmet popcorn, and 15% off any purchase!
  • Wax On Event at Anchors Down Bar (2016 NW Market St) from 4 p.m. Every Sunday at Anchors Down, bring in your vinyl records to listen to and share with fellow music junkies. All vinyl, all day, and an all day happy hour. We’ll take turns playing our favorite cuts and talk about music through the years. All music welcome!
  • Ballard Elks Lodge Ballroom Dancing (6411 Seaview Ave NW) from 7 p.m. – 10 pm. Live music will be provided by The Eddy Fukano Band. Singles and couples are welcome and cost is $7 per person.  Click here for more details.
