Moments after a police officer stopped at a red light just south of the Ballard Bridge last night, a car smashed into the back of the cruiser, sending it colliding into another car in front of it. The accident happened just before 11 p.m. at the ramp that links northbound 15 Av W to W Dravus St.
Police said the driver that caused the accident was arrested for DUI.
Both the officer and the driver of the third vehicle were taken to the hospital after complaining about pain. They were released a short time later.
