It is the weekend once more and Ballard has plenty to offer. Check out the list below and enjoy your weekend in the ‘hood!

Friday, June 6:

  • Ballard Boy Scout Troop 827 Blood Drive at Ballard Elks Lodge Upstairs Hall (6411 Seaview Ave NW) from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. To make an appointment, please contact Peter Quinn at 206-409-3136 or peterquinnnei@aol.com. Walk-in donors are welcome on the day of!
  • Comedy Sportz Seattle Show at  Atlas Theatre (3509 Fremont Ave N) at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Click here for more details and to buy tickets.

Saturday, June 7:

  • Ballard Rotary Inaugural Scavenger Hunt from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. This scavenger hunt-styled race takes participants on a journey through Ballard on foot. Cost is $100 per team (up to 4 people per team). 1st Place team wins a $500 Cash Prize! Funds go towards supporting projects and programs Ballard Rotary supports. Click here to purchase tickets.
  • Ballard Criterium Cycling Race throughout Ballard from 3:30 p.m. Click here for more details.
  • Yoga Sound Bath at Kula Movement, Center for Yoga & Health (5340 Ballard Ave NW) from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Join the team for a special evening of restorative yoga, therapeutic sound, and energy healing with Cosetta Romani and Daniella White. Cost is $35.
  • Yoga Trance Dance at Kula Movement, Center for Yoga & Health (5340 Ballard Ave NW) from 8 p.m. – 10 p.m. Class is a ritual dance of awakening for body, mind and soul. Cost is $25 on the day.
  • “Love in the Time of Zombies” performance at Ballard Underground (2220 NW Market St) from 10 p.m. This late night ROM ZOM COM (romantic zombie comedy) is about a married couple trying to survive a few months after the start of the zombie apocalypse. Ticket prices start from $10. Click here to purchase tickets.
  • Eat Local Event supporting Friends of the Cedar River Watershed at Bloom Restaurant (5410 17th Ave NW) from 5 p.m. Sockeye Salmon Kasuzuke (a traditional Japanese dish made by marinating salmon in sake lees) will be featured at the event. 20% of sales will benefit Friends of Cedar River Watershed.

Sunday, June 8:

  • Reike Open House at Ballard Healing Arts (8314 8th Ave NW) from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.  Drop by and find out more about Reiki and it’s healing effects!
  • Ballard Farmers Markets along Ballard Ave from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Click here to see this week’s specials.
  • All About Berries Class at Swansons Nursey (9701 15th Ave NW) at 11 a.m. Nursery expert Gabriel Maki discusses the care and culture of blueberries, cane fruit (raspberries, blackberries, and hybrids of), currants, gooseberries, honeyberries, and goji berries. Cost is free.
  • Summer Concerts at the Ballard Locks featuring the Barneleikarringen – Children’s Scandinavian dance. The show starts at 2 p.m. on the Ballard Locks lawn. Click here to see the full summer schedule.
  • Sunday Movies at King’s Hardware Presents: Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy beginning at sundown at King’s patio (5225 Ballard Ave NW). This month, the series will feature some of the best comeback movies of all time.

    There are signs all over Ballard Ave that the street will be closed tomorrow. Any idea why? I have there may be a race? It would br great if I could let my clients know.
