Have you seen Comet in Ballard?

(Update, 6/15): We are happy to report that Comet has been found and reunited with her family!

(Original Post, 6/13): My Ballard reader Lisa posted on Facebook to report that Comet the Dog went missing this morning in Broadview, and may be heading toward Ballard.

Comet, a golden labrador retriever and former rescue dog with a pale brown nose and a fatty tumor on his belly/chest area, was last seen heading south, north of Carkeek Park.

“You can’t see [the tumor] when you look at him, but he loves belly rubs and you can’t miss it,” Lisa said in an email.

Unfortunately, Comet was not wearing a collar after it was taken off to be washed, but he is microchipped.

If you see Comet, contact owner Lisa at 206-455-4690.

  1. UPDATE! FOUND!
Thank you to My Ballard and to everyone who phoned with tips, and info on how Comet stopped by your (several) houses for a visit! Apparently he also accompanied some dogs on their walks, too.

We picked him up at the Animal Control, and he is home exhausted and famished. SUPER GRATEFUL to my community for all your help!
