    Northwest Farmers Support Food Lifeline

The NW Farmers Fighting Hunger Project lead by the Dairy Farmers of Washing during June dairy month comes to the Ballard Fred Meyer store (915 NW 45th St, Seattle, WA 98107) on Friday, June 13, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Shoppers can meet farmers who produce food, representatives from the department of agriculture’s food assistance program, Food Lifeline, and dairy farms.

NW farmers show their commitment to fight hunger by donating more than 13.5 million pounds of food to the state’s food banks each year, including 200 gallons of milk each week in Eastern Washington alone. A little does a lot. For every $10 donated, your local food bank can distribute enough food to provide 35 meals.

The Ballard Fred Meyer collection bin will remain during the month-long June campaign, and cash donations can be made at Fred Meyer checkout registers and on http://www.NWFarmersFightingHunger.org .
