Swanson’s Nursery (9701 15th Ave NW) will host its first Summer Nights at Swanson’s event this Thursday, staying open an extra two hours until 8 p.m. for its annual “Grow With Us Family Night.”

10 percent of sales made between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. will go to the Ballard Boys & Girls Club to support future gardening projects at the club.

Along with face painting and balloon artists, there will also be a seed-planting station for kids courtesy of Renee’s Garden Seeds.

Attendees can also grab a bite to eat from pair of local food vendors, whether its dinner from Hot Dog King or dessert from Sweet Wheels Ice Cream Sandwiches

The event is part of a larger initiative by Swanson’s, as the nursery funds a community gardening and landscaping project at the Boys & Girls Club this summer.
