Registration is now open for the Ballard High School youth football camp for kids in kindergarten through eighth grade, set to take place July 7 through 11.

Each session will run from 9 a.m. to noon at the BHS field (1418 NW 65th St), with check-in at 8:30, and will focus on different skills each day, with various activities and drills.

Campers will have the chance to learn football fundamentals — including blocking, tackling, passing, catching, kicking, and other specialties — in a safe, non-contact football environment while also getting to know the BHS coaching staff. That staff is led by head coach and former Green Bay Packers, New Orleans Saints, and Miami Dolphins safety Joey Thomas.

Beyond developing football players, the camp is also designed to help mold better people off the field.

The cost to attend the camp is $100, and comes with a camp t-shirt. Campers are asked to wear athletic shoes (cleats if possible), shorts, and a t-shirt. Sunscreen is also recommended.
