A Ballard resident and interim president and CEO of Shoreline Community College will take over the helm of Seattle Goodwill Industries next month.
Daryl Campbell will join Seattle Goodwill on August 18, taking over for Ken Colling, who retired at the end of last month after more than 10 years at Goodwill.
“Daryl is an accomplished administrative executive who has served in multiple leadership roles at both educational and business organizations. He has developed significant expertise in workforce related issues and proven his ability to partner effectively across multiple stakeholder groups to drive innovative new programs,” said Markee Foster, the Chair of the Board of Directors for Seattle Goodwill Industries, in a press release. “He brings the right mix of skills, experience and creativity to align with Goodwill’s goals, for both our retail operations and our free job training and education programs.”
In a statement on Seattle Goodwill’s website, Campbell said he was excited about the opportunities his new position presents, and that he looks forward to a long tenure at Seattle Goodwill.
“Goodwill is an outstanding local and national organization, focused on providing a path to greater self-sufficiency for those in need,” Campbell said. “Seattle Goodwill’s mission, combined with my passion for education and helping people succeed in life, plus my experience in leading educational organizations, is a great fit.
In his six years at Shoreline Community College, Campbell pushed a strategic planning process that resulted in increased targeted enrollment, higher quality programs, and a more stable financial profile for the school. He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Vermont, an M.B.A. from University of Phoenix, and a J.D. degree from the Seattle University School of Law.
Daryl did an excellent job at Shoreline Community College (where I teach) and I wish him well in his new position.
