The Ballard Community Center (6020 28th Ave NW) will host a mini-fundraiser from Seattle Empty Bowls on Tuesday evening, with all proceeds going to benefit the Ballard Food Bank.

From 6 to 8 p.m. on August 12, approximately 200 small, handcrafted bowls will be available for purchase, and there is a minimum $10 suggested donation. However, buying a bowl also comes with the opportunity to fill it up with a cool desert, and the toppings of your choice.

Justin Cline from Full Tilt Ice Cream is donating all ice cream for the event, and a make-your-own-sundae bar will be available with an array of toppings as well.

“Don’t worry, our volunteers know that PARENTS will have final say on “how much!” wrote Andrea Hays of Seattle Empty Bowls in an email.

This mini-event is a slight deviation from the annual Empty Bowls dinner, in which attendees would have their bowls filled with soup. That event has raised over $50,000 for the Food Bank.
