It’s shaping up to be another busy weekend in Ballard. Take a look at what the neighborhood has to offer this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday!

Friday, August 15

  • Live Music at Conor Byrne Pub (5140 Ballard Ave NW) at 9 p.m. Featuring 1990s cover band Everybody Gets Laid, and DJ Honcho the Grouch. For more information, click here.
  • Live Music at Tractor Tavern (5213 Ballard Ave NW) at 9 p.m. Featuring Benjamin Booker and The Districts. Tickets are $14. 21 and over. For more information, click here.

Saturday, August 16

  • Viking Days at the Nordic Heritage Museum (3014 NW 67th St) from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Swedish pancake breakfast runs from 9 a.m. to noon, the festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the salmon barbecue from 4:30 to 7 p.m. For more details, click here.
  • Ballard High Boys Basketball Car Wash Fundraiser at Walgreens (5409 15th Ave NW) from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Support the Beavers’ upcoming season with their last fundraiser of the summer.
  • Pruning Q&A at Swansons Nursery (9710 15th Ave NW) from 10 to 11 a.m. Swansons’ experts, Kathy and Dan, answer questions about when and how to prune the trees and shrubs in your garden. Click here for more information.
  • Weekend Brunch at Hilliard’s Beer (1550 NW 49th St) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Brunch will be provided by The Biscuit Box, with coffee from new Ballard-based pop-up Mmmhmm Coffee. Click here for more details.
  • Self Defense for Women Workshop at Fighting Chance Seattle (1446 Northwest 53rd St) from noon to 3 p.m. This one-day workshop teaches physical defense techniques and awareness skills to women and teen girls. Cost is $45. For more details, click here.
  • Summer Concerts at the Ballard Locks featuring the Microsoft Jumpin’ Jive Orchestra, specializing in music from the big band era. The show starts at 2 p.m. on the Ballard Locks lawn. Click here to see the full summer schedule.
