The second annual Macefield Music Festival is set to bring two days of live music and excitement to venues all over Ballard.

From October 3 -4 hundreds of people will flock to the neighborhood to enjoy live music at local venues including The Tractor Tavern, The Sunset Tavern, Conor Byrne Pub, Hotel Albatross, Sonic Boom Records, Lucky Dry Goods, and the Macefield Market. The event will also cater for all ages at their outdoor, all-ages main stage in the Hattie’s Hat parking lot.

The festival is heavily focused on NW music and this year has expanded to include a second night, a comedy showcase and the two day Macefield Market. The market will feature a poster exhibition, record swap, trade show, clothing, artisans and crafts vendors with its own beer and drink garden and will be free and open to the public.

The festival was put together last year after the Reverb Festival was canceled after an eight-year run and pays homage to Edith Macefield, the woman who refused to sell out and give in to developers who offered her $1 million for modest home just under the Ballard Bridge. This year’s festival is sponsored by The Stranger, KEXP, and Do206.

Event goers will not be disappointed with the line up of entertainment that is set for this year’s festival which includes performers such as The Sonics, The Posies and Thee Satisfaction. Click here to check out the full line up and performance times.

Organizers want to remind festival goers that entrance into shows at all venues is first-come, first-served, and subject to capacity. Some venues may restrict access to 21+ guests.  All-ages venues include the Main Stage, Sonic Boom Records, and Lucky Dry Goods

Tickets can be purchased online with prices starting at $25 for a day pass up to $40 for a two day pass.
