This Sunday, December 28, will be the last official Sunday Tasting at Portalis Wine in its current location on Ballard Ave.

Owners Julie and Jens Stretcher (pictured) will be closing the wine bar at the end of the year and will reopen the Wine Shop in a new location at 6754 15th Ave NW.

Check out the statement that Streckers posted about the closure on their blog below:

The news is out! The “For Lease” sign is up! Portalis Wines is nearing the end of our 10-year lease in this spot (12 years on the street!), and we’ve decided it’s the end of an era for us on Ballard Ave. What a run!

The new wine shop location will be nearby Ballard favorites Brunswick & Hunt, The Fat Hen and Delaney.

The final wine tasting this Sunday will feature a lineup from Beresan (WA), a selection from Oregon (including Haden Fig, Eveshamwood & Lemelson) and several of the favorite J. Strecker imports. The tasting event will be open from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

“At 4pm we’ll cut cake and have a cheers! Hope you can join us,” says Julie.
