- Warner Sallman: Master Painter Opening Reception and Lecture at the Nordic Heritage Museum (3014 NW 67th St) at 4 p.m. A son of Finnish and Swedish immigrants, the Chicago-born commercial artist and painter Warner Sallman (1892-1968) has been cited by the New York Times as one of the most recognized artists of the 20th century.
