Soul-filled Jamfest at Amazing Grace Spiritual Center

Total Experience Gospel Choir 2015

Amazing Grace Spiritual Center (2007 NW 61st St) presents its third annual “Hot Summer Night Jamfest” this Friday night, featuring musical duo Narayan and Janet and The Total Experience Gospel Choir.

The Total Experience Gospel Choir has been hailed as one of the Pacific Northwest’s finest soulful ensembles. The group was started by Pastor Patrinell Wright as a gospel choir at Seattle’s Franklin High School in 1973. Since then the choir has performed live with Ray Charles, The Judds, Heart, Steely Dan, Barry Manilow, and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and has receive 150 national and international awards, having toured to 28 countries on 5 continents.

Lifelong professional performers, studio musicians and songwriters, Narayan and Janet perform a wide range of soulful musical genres, from originally-composed jazz to Motown and Beatles. Their numerous CD releases feature the duo on vocals, keyboards, trumpet, flugelhorn and Hammond B-3.

A handful of musical guests will participate including musical duo Garnett Hundley and Beverly Daugherty, The Amor Chorale, conscious rock duo LYRE, blues artist Mary Van Zante, and keyboard player Greg Sebastian. Amazing Grace Spiritual Center Music Director Cheri Neill is producer and creator of the event, and will perform with her ensemble Cheri & Friends.

The concert runs from 7:30 p.m.– 9:30 p.m. with a twenty minute intermission. Tickets are $20 in advance at Brown Paper Tickets and $25 at the door ($10 ages 16 and under.)
