Free car washes at Brown Bear Car Wash for 58th anniversary

Seattle-based Brown Bear Car Wash gives out complimentary car washes this Thursday, August 27 to celebrate its 58th anniversary.

The company offers free “Beary Clean” tunnel washes from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 21 Brown Bear locations in the Puget Sound area, including the Ballard location (5111 15th Ave NW) and the original Brown Bear location by Interbay (1800 15th Ave W).

Additionally, Brown Bear will choose a lucky customer this Thursday to receive free car washes for a year: an annual membership to Brown Bear’s Unlimited Wash Club. Enter to win by taking a photo of your newly washed vehicle and posting it on Twitter (@brownbear) or Instagram (@brownbearcarwash) with the hashtag #FreeCarWashDay.

For the past nine years, Brown Bear has offered these free “Beary Clean” tunnel car washes twice a year. Last year’s anniversary event generated 26,437 free washes, bringing the combined total of complimentary anniversary and free Veterans Day washes to over 225,000.

“It’s a fitting way to say ‘thank you’ to our customers who have supported us over the past 58 years,” said Brown Bear founder and owner Vic Odermat.

The family-owned company– through its parent company Car Wash Enterprises, Inc.– is recognized within the industry as being a leader in washing “green,” using eco-friendly detergents and conserving water.

“We blend hard work, pride and a lot of fun into an event that benefits our customers and the environment,” says Odermat.
