Ballardites to battle over Elvis title

Two Ballard locals will be battling it out for Seattle’s Best Elvis title at 8 p.m. this Saturday, August 13, at The Crocodile downtown (2200 2nd Ave).

Past winner, Ballard resident Rob Schwertley (pictured) and 2nd runner-up Ballardite Jimmy Peschel will compete this Saturday’s  Seattle “Elvis Invitationals” to decide who is Seattle’s best Amateur ETA (Elvis Tribute Artist).

When not impersonating Elvis, Schwertley works in sales at the Seattle Times and Peschel is a ship captain and currently works at Foss.

“There is only one place in Seattle each year where you can see twenty different impersonators in full hip-gyrating, fried Chicken-eating and swooning action,” say the event organizers.

Tickets cost $17 and can be purchased online.
