Power outages in Ballard and beyond

Update 2 p.m. A tree is blamed for a power outage in Sunset Hill: 115 homes have lost power along 31st Ave, between 75th and 85th, per Seattle City Light. To report an outage that’s not on the map, you can call City Light at 206-684-3000.

Update 1:15 p.m. Cliff Mass just updated his blog. “I have looked at the latest forecast model output and they are all on pretty much the same page, which increases forecast confidence substantially,” he writes about Saturday’s storm. “The bottom line is that we have a dangerous storm, comparable to the 2006 Chanukah Eve storm or the 1993 Inauguration Day Storm, one that is following nearly a perfect track to produce strong winds over the Puget Sound region.”

Bottom line: 50-60 MPH gusts in Seattle on Saturday evening and night, lots of rain and many power outages expected.

Update 11 a.m. Seattle City Light says there are 12,000 customers without power in Queen Anne, Magnolia and Interbay — the bulk of them in Lower Queen Anne. We’re also seeing a couple hundred homes without power just north of Carkeek Park (outage map), but nothing of significance (so far) in the Ballard area. We’ll keep updating…
