2017 Seattle Night Out registration now open

The 2017 Seattle Night Out Against Crime is set for Tuesday, August 1, from 5 p.m. to midnight! Last year, over 1,400 events were registered to participate in the annual event.

The annual collective of neighborhood street parties is a national Crime Prevention event designed to heighten crime prevention awareness, increase neighborhood support in anti-crime efforts, and unite communities.

“While celebrating your community and spending time with your neighbors, Night Out is a great chance to build stronger police-community partnerships,” say representatives from Seattle Night Out.

Locals can now register their block for the party or take part in another event that is listed.

Seattle Police are encouraging locals to remember the following tips when setting up their Night Out events:

  • Remember to never block the intersection!
  • Please do not use a vehicle as a barricade to close your street. Any barricade should be easy to move.
  • Your neighbors vehicles need to be allowed access to their homes and emergency vehicles need to be allowed access to your block.
  • Keep tables and other set up to one side of the street to keep the street open for vehicles to pass through if necessary.

Registration will be open through 5 p.m. on Tuesday, August 1, for locals to register their event.

If you are already registered materials and street closure signs are available to print out from the official Night Out website.
