Help support local radio during Garage Sale Day

This Saturday, June 3 is the Phinney Neighborhood Association’s annual Garage Sale Day, and local grassroots radio station, KBFG 107.3 will host a sale to raise money for their station. KBFG’s sale will be from 9am to 2pm at 5308 Baker Avenue NW.

Organizers from KBFG say they will be using the money raised to help pay for the permits to broadcast, advertise the station, and get some new equipment. “We just opened our new temporary studio, and we will have brand new episodes to air (streaming only) soon along with a complete schedule of them,” they write on their website. They say they’re waiting for their permits to all “fall into place,” and should be broadcasting on FM by the middle of the year.

The station is hoping to get some additional support from the community, and have asked that people donate items to include in the sale. Email info@fulcrumcc.org or call Pam at 206-402-6926 for more info.

Garage Sale Day will happen all over Phinney on Saturday, with almost 100 yard sales around the neighborhood. There will be a flea market in the Phinney Center’s lower parking lot and a tool sale at the PNA Tool Library.

If you’re looking to get rid of a few things yourself, you can bring electronics to be recycled at the Phinney Center, where there will also be a Seadrunar Recycling’s shredding truck on hand from 9am – 1pm (each person is permitted to shred up to four boxes of paper). There will also be a plant swap at the center.
