Oktoberfest is coming to Ballard this weekend

This Saturday, September 16 is the 3rd annual Ballard Oktoberfest brewery crawl, bringing together four of Ballard’s breweries for a day of live music, Bavarian grub, and Oktoberfest-themed special brews from each brewery.

A traveling oompah band, known as the Oompah Machine, will kick things off at Stoup Brewing at 1pm. The crawl will continue on to Populuxe at 2pm, Lucky Envelope at 3pm, and Reuben’s Brews at 4pm. Each brewery will be serving one special Oktoberfest beer and a limited-edition 0.5 liter commemorative stein or boot. (You can purchase glassware for $6 empty or $10 filled.) There will be food trucks at each brewery, and co-sponsor Verity Credit Union will be providing pretzel bites for the entirety of the crawl.

Stoup will be serving a special Bavarian-style Hefeweizen, Dunkelweizen, German Pilsner & Marzen. The food truck on site will be Napkin Friends, who plan on serving latke potato pancakes.

Populuxe will have special brew Populuxe Oktoberfest and a Kolsch, with the Itty Bitty Schnitty food truck serving schnitzel, kraut and fritz.

Lucky Envelope will have an Oktoberfest Vienna Lager, Helles Lager and Smoked Tea Rauch Helles. Ravenleaf Food Truck will serve southwest and Caribbean barbecue prepared with fresh northwest ingredients.

Reuben’s plans to serve their Märzen, Gose, Roggenbier, and other German styles. Their food truck will be Burgerphenia, who will be featuring the Prague Dog: bratwurst, red kraut, spicy mustard on a brioche bun.  They’ll also be serving burgers and fries.
