What’s on this weekend

There’s a lot happening this weekend, with the Fremont Oktoberfest happening Friday to Sunday and the Fishermen’s Fall Festival at the Fishermen’s Terminal on Saturday. There’s also a cider making class, Populuxe’s grand opening party, and plenty of live music to choose from on Ballard Ave.

Friday, September 22:

Saturday, September 23:

  • Populuxe Brewing Grand Opening at their new space (826B NW 49th St), noon to 10 pm.
  • Sustainable Ballard Cider Making Class 10 am – 12:30 pm at the Ballard Tool Library (7549 15th Ave NW). “Come learn how to make your own hard cider! Paul Brookshire will illustrate the complete hard cider making process including what equipment is needed to make cider, what to expect from the process, how to avoid errors, and tips on customizing cider to individual tastes.” Please RSVP: margaret@sustainableballard.org
  • Fishermen’s Fall Festival, Fishermen’s Terminal, 11am to 6pm. Live music, kids activities, wild salmon barbecue, Ship Canal tours, and more. Admission is free.

  • Meaningful Movies : Sustainable Ballard Presents – “We the People 2.0”5:30pm to 7:30pm at Royal Drummer Cafe (6420 24th Ave NW). “We the People 2.0 is a visual essay about the loss of democracy in the United States. Narrated by Walton Goggins, the film utilizes both original footage as well as found footage to describe a profound change in thinking at the grassroots level. Suggested donation: $5.
  • Ballard Farmer’s Market along Ballard Ave from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Click here to see this week’s specials.
  • Free zumba and fitness class at Ballard Commons Park, 11am. Led by Ballard Health Club.
  • Live Music
