Public meeting: city seeks input for Soundview Playfield renovation

Soundview Playfield will be renovated, and Seattle Parks and Recreation is asking for community input on the new design. There will be a meeting on Wednesday, October 4 from 6 to 7:30 pm at the Whitman Middle School Library (9201 15th Ave NW) with the Seattle Parks and Recreation’s planner, project manager, and design consultants.

The proposed project for the playfield includes an installation of synthetic field surfacing, lighting, ADA access and site improvements, funding for which will come from the Seattle Park District. The lower playfield will receive synthetic turf and lighting; with enough funding, the upper playfield will also be renovated with turf. The Parks department says the lower playfield and some of the adjacent park facilities will not be accessible during construction.
