‘Meditation in Everyday Life’ course starts soon in Ballard

A meditation class is being offered in Ballard from October 10 through November 14. Meditation in Everyday Life, led by Alan Ness, will meet on Tuesdays from 7:30 to 9:30 pm for five weeks.

According to Ness, the classes are meant as an introduction to meditation for new students. “It offers practical suggestions for establishing a sitting practice in the midst of our speedy society,” Ness writes. “Each evening class allows for open discussion of the challenges that students are facing in their practice. The focus is on integrating the practice into daily life. There are discussions on the challenges of meditation and how we can touch into our true human nature through a sitting practice.” This is the first course in the “Everyday Life” series of the Way of Shambhala path of training, Ness tells My Ballard.

The cost is $150, with a sliding scale tuition available. The program is open to everyone, with no prior meditation experience necessary. It will be held at the Soma Yoga Studio in Ballard at 1423 NW 70th St.  For more information or to register, click here.

  1. Thanks for the great offer for new students. I will take this course, but for now, I’m busy preparing for other assignments. I’m writing a thesis and it caused certain difficulties. I found online thesis writing services and I think it will make my task much easier. After all, this is a difficult and important type of writing and it is worth preparing properly. When I’m done, I’ll have more time for other things.
