What’s on this weekend

This weekend is a bit quieter in Ballard, but there’s plenty of live music to keep you entertained if you’re headed out. Have a great weekend in Ballard!

Friday, October 6:

  • Open House at Skillet Diner, 4-6pm. “We are thrilled to be open again and wanna welcome you back to our refreshed space! Come check out what we’ve done with the place…and have a slider or two! We will also have house-made cookies and Caffe Vita coffee!”
  • Live Music:
    • Vaudeville Etiquette, Cedar Teeth, and Stucky Jackson and the Boys at Sunset Tavern (5433 Ballard Ave NW), 9pm, $10.
    • Mexico Earthquake Victim Benefit with Annie Ford Band and Country Dave at Conor Byrne Pub (5140 Ballard Ave NW) at 9pm $8.
    • For The Masses (Tribute to Depeche Mode) w/ Tiger Tiger & Blood Flowers at Tractor Tavern (5213 Ballard Ave NW) at 9pm. $15.
    • Jazz at Egan’s Ballard Jam House (1707 NW Market St). 7pm – Chip Parker with the Bill Ashschell Trio [Website] – Bill Anschell (piano), Jeff Johnson (bass) and Brad Boal (drums) ($10 cover). 9pm – Jazz Vocalist Nikki Dee’s World Tour of Jazz! ($10 cover)

Saturday, October 7:

  • Clean Street Cleanup at Kirke Park (7028 9th Ave NW) 10am to noon, hosted by Groundswell NW. “We are excited to be partnering with Whittier Heights Community Council.What to bring:  As usual, all necessary materials will be provided. Please wear appropriate clothing to be outdoors for two hours. We will provide coffee and a light breakfast.”
  • Live Music:
    • Guns of Nevada, The Cheap Cassettes and The Heels at Sunset Tavern (5433 Ballard Ave NW), 9pm, $10.
    • Mark Brainard and guests (TBD) at Conor Byrne Pub (5140 Ballard Ave NW) at 9pm, $8.
    • KEXP & Rainier RDay present: The Moondoggies w/ LAKE & Corespondents at Tractor Tavern (5213 Ballard Ave NW) at 9pm. $12.
    • Jazz at Egan’s Ballard Jam House (1707 NW Market St) 9pm – “Last Call: A Farewell Cabaret” – with LaWanda Dupree and Angie Louise, featuring John Engerman (piano), David Marriott Jr. (trombone), Todd Gowers (bass) and Ed Littlefield (drums). Purchase tickets online – any remaining seats will be sold at the door. NOTE: this show has a minimum $10 food/drink order per person.

Sunday, October 8:

  • Lil’ Beavs Cheerleading Camp at BHS, 9:30 am to noon. Open to students K-6. Participants will learn cheers, jumps, and a dance! Each camper will receive a t- shirt, bow, set of pom poms, a temporary tattoo, a picture with the squad,and admission to the Ballard High varsity football game on Friday, October 13, at Memorial Stadium (Seattle Center). $45 per student; register here.
  • Ballard Farmer’s Market along Ballard Ave from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Click here to see this week’s specials.
  • Live Music:
    • Open mic at Conor Byrne Pub (5140 Ballard Ave NW) sign-ups at 7:30 pm.
    • Thee Deception, Dirty Outs and Eats Batteries at Sunset Tavern (5433 Ballard Ave NW), 8pm, $8.
