Homegrown shuts down Fremont location

After nearly 9 years in Fremont, Homegrown has decided to pull out of the neighborhood. A sign on the door of the sustainable sandwich and salad spot says it’s is “permanently closed.”

“Our lease was up and it didn’t make sense for us to renew,” the company said on its Facebook page. This is a common theme throughout Ballard and Fremont as lease prices rise.

Homegrown still operates several locations in the area, including Queen Anne, South Lake and Capitol Hill. It recently closed its Sammamish store, as well.
