Free burgers and fundraisers for Habit Burger grand opening

The newest burger joint in Ballard is giving away burgers all weekend long as part of their grand opening festivities in the coming days. On Saturday and Sunday, August 18 and 19, Habit Burger (907 NW Ballard Way) will give free beef burgers to the first 200 people through the door each day from 11:30am to 1:30 pm. In addition to free burgers, they’ll host two back-to-back fundraisers to support the Boys & Girls Club and local nonprofit The World is Fun.

The Ballard location will be the seventh in the Seattle-Tacoma region. We stopped by to check on their progress; it looks like they’re ready to set up the outdoor patio, and the inside looks nearly set up.

Habit Burger, a chain hailing from Santa Barbara, is the newest tenant in the block of stores known as “The Terminal” next to New Seasons in East Ballard. A look at their menu suggests they keep things simple: burgers include variations such as a teriyaki flavor, bbq bacon, and the “Santa Barbara”, which is a double burger with cheese and avocado. The vegetarian option is a roasted garlic portabella burger. Their sandwich menu includes three hand-filleted marinated chicken sandwiches, tri-tip steak sandwich, ahi tuna, and a vegan patty sandwich. During the giveaway, visitors will get a “charburger” served with french fries and a regular beverage.

The first fundraiser is planned for Sunday night (August 19) at 5:30pm, and will benefit The World Is Fun. Habit will donate 100 percent of the evening’s profits to the nonprofit. And then, on Tuesday, August 21 at 1:30pm they’ll open for the Boys & Girls Club fundraiser, again donating all proceeds to the Club.

Habit Burger will officially open its doors to the public on Wednesday, August 22.

  1. Nice of them to open in such a community-minded way. I’ll hit them up soon. Who doesn’t love a good burger?
