Massive garage sale at Ballard Tool Library this weekend

Ballard’s Tool Library is hosting its first ever garage sale this Sunday, Sept. 23 from noon to 5pm at their headquarters, 7549B 15th Ave NW.

“Fill out your tool collection while supporting Sustainable Ballard at the same time,” the organizers write. “We’ll have circular saws, chop saws, drills, hammers, wrenches, and more.” Prices should range between $1 and $5 on many items.

Also, a heads up: the tool library recently changed their hours to help accommodate people who want to work on projects over the weekend. They’ll keep their Tuesday/Thursday hours (5 to 8pm) but now will also be open on Saturdays from 9am to 11am and Sundays, 2pm to 5pm.

They’re also looking for some help; email jbharmon@ballardtoollibrary.org to learn how to become a tool librarian or substitute tool librarian.

    1. How does it feel to post such predictable and boring comments anonymously under different predictable and boring names, day in and day out? I’ll bet it doesn’t feel as good as if you were to actually get off the computer, go out into the community and make actual change in your neighborhood.

        1. It sucks. But it still doesn’t compel me to post useless, predictable and boring garbage anonymously on the internet, ruining an otherwise great site containing helpful and positive info concerning the community I live in.

You are in effect actually doing the exact thing you are complaining about, only on the internet. So, how does that feel?

          1. Yep, I’m just like the rapists and junkies. Get bent, libtard.
In typical “progressive” fashion you’re more outraged at free speech than you are about an army of degenerates ruining Seattle. Pathetic.

          2. It’s a great day for free speech when someone as despised as you gets to say what they want. You hardly need the First Amendment to protect popular people who say popular things. The herd will protect them! But obnoxious assholes who are utterly full of shit, haranguing everyone with irrelevant and incoherent gibberish? Hate-filled, racist garbage? Yuck! Nobody wants it!

If it wasn’t for the mighty power of free speech, a wart like you would be crushed by popular acclaim. You’d be censored by a happy mob and free speech would die to thunderous applause.

Letting you bleat on sucks in every way, but at least it’s free speech. Hooray?

The free speech defense is another way of saying “The redeeming value of my words is that they are not literally a crime”. I think we can all agree. You’re awful and we hate you, but your posts fall short of a jailable offense. Congratulations, for what that’s worth.

          3. Yep, hate me more than the junkie thieves. Yep, totally racist that I’m against a criminal junkie invasion or jihadist stabbings in major cities. Yep, big ol’ evil me. Get your head fixed, libtard. You read up on all those DRIVE BY SHOOTINGS yesterday? YEP
Besides, you guys couldn’t possibly hate me MORE THAN you hate cleanliness, civility, law and order, and reasonable taxation. C’mon, that’s what REALLY MAKES YOU MAD.

          4. Maybe he’s saying that there’s a fucking influx of degenerate lazy self serving junkies that only care about themselves and their next hit laying on the streets of a once thriving and proud neighborhood. Oh excuse me sir while I step over your sleeping bag while I make my way to WORK to EARN my money. Oh, can I spare a dollar? Can you spare getting a life?? Dumbass..

          5. “John Smith”. LOL. You literally have zero friends, sockmaster.

Why is it necessary to complain about this supposed influx of junkies on a routine notice about a tool sale? What purpose is served? Who does this help? It doesn’t sound the alarm; it does the opposite. It annoys everyone and makes us all the more convinced that you’re delusional.

Ballard, and Seattle in general, is thriving better than ever. There’s evidence of that in every metric you can think of . Homelessness is a crisis, but that has not caused a crime wave. Crime remains at a 30 year low, and the increase in homelessness is in no way tied to crime. You never cite any evidence to contradict any of these facts.

And Islam is not involved in any way, except that many of the same fascists who blame all their problems on Jews, or a phantom “homeless industrial complexe”, also blame all their grievances on Moslems, not to mention Mexicans and immigrants in general. Trumpers, in other words. The only thing dumber than Trump is Trump’s idiotic fan club.

Everyone hates you, and nobody believes you. Have a nice day.

          6. Right, I guess that lady who got raped at that sweet ass car dealership bathroom doesn’t thing crime has gone up bc of homelessness either, huh? :) Yeah, I love getting raped when I’m buying a new car too!!

          7. What about all the rapes committed by housed people? There’s 100 of those for the one at the car dealership that you keep bringing up. Do you want to run housed people out of the city because of the acts of those 100 rapists?

Or men. Pretty much 99.9% of these rapes were committed by men. Do you want to persecute all men for the crimes of some men?

You have a single instance of a crime committed by a homeless person, and that is your sole evidence that the homeless are criminals. Yet you don’t use the same logic of judge all housed people as criminals. Or all men as criminals.

We do know that the homeless population of Ballard increased by a factor of 4, and the crime rate did not increase. If homeless people committed crimes a higher rate than housed people, then an increase in homeless people must lead to an increased crime rate. Why didn’t it happen? “Unreported crime”? Sure, how convenient. Why not Martians? Mind control? There’s no evidence for Martians, or mind control. And no evidence for unreported crime.

Does the rape victim you keep exploiting know you are using her this way? Maybe you should have some respect for her. Just a thought.

          8. One thing we all know you are certainly against is intelligent, constructive, grown-up conversation.
