International Women’s Day Celebration & America Rise Launch Party

Join America Rise for an International Women’s Day celebration and crowdfunding campaign launch party!

You’ll be the first to see the brand new trailer for our Seed&Spark campaign. Plus, light refreshments and drinks will be provided! Doors open at 6:00pm with a presentation featuring the following speakers starting at 6:30pm.

• Kayla DeMonte, Senior Program Director at Citizen University
• Fathia Absie, Co-founder of Eat with Muslims
• Cleo Barnett, Program Director for Amplifier
• Sarah Kennedy & Brian Overholt, Directors of America Rise

Live music by Carla Torgerson and Kyle Hanson will round out the evening. We hope to see you there!

About the Documentary:
Directed by Sarah Kennedy and Brian Overholt, America Rise is a feature-length documentary born out of the Women’s March that tells the story of Americans rising up for their liberties in the midst of a divided nation.

About the Speakers:
Fathia Absie is a Somali American writer and filmmaker. In 2017, Fathia co-founded Eat With Muslims, a project designed to bring Muslims and non-Muslims together over dinner and stories in the hopes of building bridges between neighbors and communities of different faiths and cultures.
Cleo Barnett is a curator, artist, and the program director for Amplifier – a design lab dedicated to reimagining and amplifying the voices of social change movements through art and community engagement. Learn more about Cleo here on her website.
