Advertising FAQ

Questions about advertising on My Ballard? You’ve reached the right place. If we can’t answer your question here, email us at ads@myballard.com. And when you’re ready to submit an ad, click here.

What makes up an ad on MyBallard.com?

It’s a 160 pixel wide by 160 pixel high image with a maximum of ten words (65-ish characters, including spaces) of text underneath. Both the image and the text link the website of your choice. The image can be a logo, message or even a photo of your business. You can see the ads right now in the right column of this page.

What if I don’t have a image?

We work with a graphic designer who will create your ad for $50 if you supply a logo, $100 to start from scratch.

What if I don’t have a website to link?

We can create a simple page on My Ballard with text that you provide. Please contact us at ads@myballard.com for more details.

Where will the ad appear?

It will rotate through the above-the-fold ad position on the home page, the three ad positions in the middle of the home page and the three positions in the right column of the story pages. For example, if there are six total advertisers, your ad would appear on two-thirds of the home page views (four ad positions divided by six advertisers) and half the story page views (three ad positions divided by six advertisers.)

How many page views do you get?

We’re averaging 600,000 page views with 65,000 unique users a month. And we’re still growing.

When will the ad run?

The ads are placed online the 1st and 15th of every month and will run the duration of your campaign.

How much is it?

A one-month ad on MyBallard is $150. There is a 5% discount for a 3-month campaign and a 10% discount for a 6-month campaign.

How do I pay?

You will receive an invoice from Kate Bergman (kate@nextdoormedia.com). You can pay-in-full by check or credit card once you receive your invoice.

Can I change the ad image and/or text during the campaign?

Yes, as often as every two weeks. Just email us the new information at ads@myballard.com.

Do you post public service announcements for free?

Yes, for non-profits in select circumstances. Please email us for details.

Can I buy ads on your blogs in Phinney-Greenwood, Magnolia, Fremont and Queen Anne, too?

We offer a “network ad” across the top of all of our sites. For more information, please email kate@nextdoormedia.com.

Are there some kinds of advertising you won’t accept?

We will not accept any offensive, spam-like or questionable ads. We reserve the right to refuse any ad submitted to My Ballard.
