Gracie, you're not bonkers..I carried the ashes of my dogs Mario and Betty, lost Mario in 2007 and Betty in 2010, everyday to help me search for Arlee. You never get over the loss of a pet...no matter what the circumstances....they are always with you! Arlee's ashes returned home yesterday. And Chris, who we met through myballard in our search for Arlee, graciously offered to make and urn for Arlee's ashes. Chris somehow caught Arlee's spirit without ever having met her. But, now she is home and Harvey is so touched by everyone's outing pouring of kind thoughts. I hope Misty has made it home by now....

Thank you Ingrid for your address. Even this morning I found myself looking to see if I would see little Arlee. I can't imagine having to find her like that. As hard as it is now, try to think of her in happier times. That sweet little face. It's been two months since my precious one died and I still break down occasionally. I found a little tuft of her hair in my car & have put it on my visor. I will touch it & "feel" her & tell her I loved her so much. I know I'm sounding bonkers but that is my connection with her now. And I try to remember not her last day but all the days before - smiling, giving me hugs - literally. Would climb up on my lap, put one paw on each side of my neck & put her face next to mine.
Hopefully Misty will come home. Will now keep an eye out for her. Much love to both you and Misty's owner.

Gilman - my sentiments exactly about Arlee. I can't stop thinking about that poor little girl and wondering how in the heck she ended up there. I still get tears in my eyes thinking about her. She was well loved by many here and never met the little munchkin. I looked for all the time & kept hoping I'd see on the post "Arlee is back". Feel so much for Ingrid having to see Arlee in that condition. I want to send them a card but don't know where they live. Maybe I'll send it via their vet.

Has Misty come home? The usual when missing - posters in neighborhood, checking basements, sheds, garages - especially during the warmer weather. They will go into them to get away from the heat (happened to my cat gone for 9 days until found in neighbor's basement - hungry & lost weight but fine). My next cat disappeared & I was walking & driving around looking for him. As I'm by this huge tree calling his name I hear a tiny meow. The guy there told me his new puppy had chased him up there & he couldn't get my cat down & didn't know where he lived. Also, don't know if your cat will react to this but mine did, calling her name while shaking her bag of food.
Hope Misty comes home soon. (My last cat was named Misty until first vet visit & found out it was a boy)
