have you tried it out yet? if so, are your friends trying it out, too? what are your thoughts so far?

i'm on but only a few of my friends are so far, so it's slow. i wonder if over time, people will make the switch? i don't want all of the same people on my g+, so i don't care about the masses, but it'd be nice if all who i consider "cool kids" would come aboard.

I am on it. I haven't spent any time on it using the computer but have attempted to use the mobile app. I've tried to find people to add them and it's giving me fits! I need to spend some computer time to figure it out. FB and Gmail, etc., are blocked on the system I'm on now or else I'd mess with it.

The one strange thing is it appears you can add whoever you want and anyone can add you without approval.

I just had a friend who was on it and he had invitations. I think I can invite people too - haven't actually tried but the other person who got an invitation has been able to invite people.

Suzaroo, are you using it from a computer or from your mobile? I think maybe my problem is I need to learn it from the computer and then figure out the mobile quirks. I have people I would like to add and it doesn't appear to let me. Will be a good weekend project.

I got an invite but can't get in. Not exactly crying myself to sleep over it though, FB is enough of a PITA.

I am on. It is a tad slow now, but that is what will happen until the iphone is supported and tablets are as well. I like it more the fb so far. Simple. Easy to filter out people. A mobile app that actually works.

I got in just fine, but none of the folk I invited were able to get in. About as useful as facebooking Facebook.

I'm enjoying it. I like how easy it is to restrict visibility on whatever I choose to post. I like using circles immensely. I find I'm being far more selective overall. It's freeing, in a way.

Here's a good article about how to get the most out of google+.

It's ok, there needs to be more people I know on it before I can fairly judge it. I do find it odd that you can't simply post on someone's wall.

Not sure how good it is at finding friends. I put in Gel-sol and his real name and neither one found him. I don't see enough to make judgement yet, but would like to get off FB if possible. I like what it does, but not enough filters for sure.

Hmmm, did you spell my last name correct (Reichel)? The search worked for me.

No Gel-Sol until they start allowing artist pages, however I did put that down as one of my nicknames.

I'm having a ball on Google+! Sharing all of my best stuff there now.

If you need an invitation I think I still have some. Let me know what email address you want to use for it. Preferably a gmail address.

Miss Julie - Thanks for the article! I shared it on Google+.

If you are looking for me over there, I'm "Silver Goth." PLEASE let me know who you are on MyBallard so that I can add you to the MyBallard circle!

BTW - in order to receive private messages on G+ you need to change your default settings. (Mine is already enabled, so you should be able to reach me there.)

To do this, click on your name in the menu bar of G+, then click "Profile," then click on the "Edit Profile" button (upper right.) Then look under your avatar photo for something about receiving email and click on it to edit that setting.

Let me know if this doesn't work for you and I'll try to help you figure it out.

Google+ lets you receive private messages without giving out your email address!

yep Suzaroo, 3 of the 9 I invited almost three weeks ago are now on. They must've let a few more in yesterday or today. Overall the feeling is better than facebooking Facebook. Seems easier to control what is visible to others. It doesn't work very well in a private browsing session though, so I'm thinking this is yet another way for Google to have you always logged in and tracking your browsing plus all kinds of other activities.

FYI, out on iPhone now. Same exact UI as the Android version, but now it should take off a bit more. They needed to hit the majority of smartphones.

Spent some "quality" time with + yesterday. gcm's comment about "mastery of minimalism" rings true. Think I'll invite my real account and get set up. + has everything I need and none of the annoying cr#p apps like Farmville that pollute your friend's walls. The circles make good sense, though some friends don't grok them yet. Facebooking FB has far too many surprising "features" for my liking such as poor security of information, the non-privacy policy, and app spam.
