Or anybody know a good resting place for it? 30 volumes, great condition. 1968 edition.
Once upon a time this was an important addition to family libraries. In the digital age now, not so much. But can we really trust Wikipedia?

How many volumes do you think will fit in a big green recycling bin at one time?

if there's an Atlas as part of the set, I'd take that.

the one I had growing up was of similar vintage and had a large atlas that slid into a vertical slot on the back of the wood case.

Liberte, who just expanded into a bigger space in the Landmark Bldg in 56th has made wonderful use of old encyclopedias by turning them into shelves. They look fabulous, and it's a great re-purposing idea.

I would take the whole set if I had space. Does it come with the coordinating wood cabinet? In the spirit of archiving, try to keep the set together.

Wikipedia: Do not trust Wikipedia. It is not a reliable source. When I was a in graduate school, you would get an F if Wikiepdia was cited. Try http://www.britannica.com/

    Thanks for your thoughtful response.
    No cabinet.
The encyclopedic approach to knowledge has been replaced by googled one-shot queries.

Well, I'm a sucker for old books. If nobody else wants it and it's free I'll take 'em.
