Panda,
As of 5:30am this morning that is what the sign still said as I biked by there on my way to work. I get tantalizing peaks inside once in a while so I know that progress is being made. But I am afraid I couldn't make an estimate based on those glimpses.

argggh -- I just posted the same question on the Bad Albert's thread before seeing this one!

Mondo,
Just wanted to compliment you on your mastery of Pirate speak!! That was a very good argggh you gave. A bit subtle and understated, but perfectly in keeping with the tone of this thread. Well done! May you enjoy a wonderful Talk Like a Pirate Day!!

Argggggh - forgot it was Piratespeak Day! (this latter exclamation had more of the proper pirate spirit behind it)

D -- what kind of peaks are you getting a peek of? I'm intrigued...

lol, tantalizing peaks...do tell ;-)

I thought I saw a Mt Everest in there. Perhaps an Anacapa. Definately a Mount McKinley! All made of soft serve ice cream of course.
I suppose I shouldn't have peeked in as I rode by. Instead I should have sneeked a peek at my dictionary before posting in the forum! I hope I didn't pique anyone too badly!

At least you didn't "peak" as you rode by. That would've been ugly.

Update on the Red Mill as of late Monday afternoon on Talk Like a Pirate Day, September 19, 2011.
The Red Mill burger emporium
Will be a gustatory sensorium.
But its sign from today
still read the same way
that it did on my bike ride this mornium. No change⦠Still "Opening in September."

I run by there in the mornings...the only sign of progress I saw was that early last week they were off of their temporary electrical service and there was a painting contractor there off and on. Picnic tables out front were stained/sealed recently as well. Hopefully it's just some final touches and they will be open soon.
Edit to add that out of 8 permits pulled 3 are closed/complete. 1 construction, 2 mechanical and 2 refrigeration permits are still open. That doesn't mean the work isn't done, but that's another hurdle before they can open.

The reader board out front now says "Opening in Oct"...looks like we'll have to wait a while longer.
Posted 1 year ago # -
that could be next Saturday!
might not be that long a wait... (holds breath)

Thanks Rudy! I didnt even notice the change this morning. So much for my 5am powers of observation.
Burgers were due in September.
We all so keenly remember.
But the sign out in front
(in a very nice font)
has delayed the hot fries till Octember.Posted 1 year ago # -
The Red Mill sign went by on a flatbed truck west on Market yesterday.
The insides might not be quite finished, but they're working hard on the outside!Posted 1 year ago # -
What's the location of the new one?
Posted 1 year ago # -
SA it's the old Totem House location down towards the locks:
3058 NW 54th St
Seattle, WA 98107Posted 1 year ago # -
Yes, across the street from the Locks parking, and across the cross street from 7-Eleven.

The Totem House fish was okay but the shakes were memorable. Hope Red Mill bought the recipe...
