Aaaaah cozy winter time. Time to be indoors. Just ask the rats that moved in when the weather got cold. I have FOUR cats (not my fault). Isn't there something about cats and rats? Anyway, long story short I needed someone to repair my grey water pipe that they chewed a hole in that caused flooding my kitchen. Jacob gave me a worse case (you don't know till you get in there) bid that was very reasonable. He sent his two guys and they were here for hours. It was a much worse than worse case job. When it was done I called Jacob and asked how much it was "I stand by my bid."!! I'm pretty sure he lost money on the job. If you want someone who is ethical, believes in his employees and stands by his word. Hire him. http://www.jacobreid.com/ Great website - he does much larger jobs too

Jacob and his crew has replaced our fence, replaced 2 windows and a sky light (one that was a serious "worst case scenario") replaced a couple of light fixtures, installed some smoke alarms. He is great, turns up on time the guys that work for him are clean, polite and always do a little bit extra (when they installed the smoke alarmsthey also replaced a light bulb in a hard to reach fixture for me). They are GREAT!

I love it when people go out of their way to say something nice about people on forums! Usually just a lot of whining on these things! Keep it going Ballard!

If you were looking for a contractor wouldn't you want to hear all sides?

Update: Jacob replaced a faucet in our kitchen last week, he went to Morgans to pick up the right parts because of course being Ballard my kitchen had some wacky thing going on under the sink. It looks great! That's is four experiences with Jacob: two major projects, two handyman honey-do's and I'm still very happy with every encounter we've had with him.

I've got to side with Ernie on this one. Jacob may be great, but his friend here continues to damage his reputation by being a snarky little snot. She should learn to leave well enough alone and let his work (and the real testimonials) speak for itself.
