Where to donate used baby/toddler toys and gear?

Hi - I have a lot of gently used baby/toddler toys and equipment that I'm ready to get rid of. I know I can take them to Goodwill/Value Village etc, but I'd love to donate some of the stuff directly to those in need (e.g. family/women's shelter or WIC/teen moms program).

    Any ideas locally?

    Thanks!

I took my items to "Baby Boutique" which is a shop run by Wellspring Family Services. Their clients paid nothing for the items, but I thought it was nice how it was set up like a consignment shop -- clients could wander through and pick what they liked instead of just being handed whatever. I found a description of Baby Boutique here: http://gocitykids.parentsconnect.com/attraction/baby-boutique-1100-virginia-street-seattle-wa-98101-us and the page contains a link to Wellspring's main page.

I think the group that occupies the same building as the Wallingford Library can also use these items. They are called FamilyWorks (used to be Fremont Public Association.)

Might ask the people at Ballard Food Bank. They, unfortunately, see lots of families with babies, small children all the time.

I second the recommendation for Baby Boutique, here's a direct link to their most urgent needs.

I just read again angeline's post and have to agree with her. I didn't realize the clients didn't have to pay and could choose what they needed. Good deal.

Thanks for all these great ideas - I'll definitely make a stop at the Baby Boutique. I have some leftover diapers/formula for the food bank too!

Ballard Food Bank pitching in here - the Baby Boutique sounds great for clothing and other baby accessories! The Ballard Food Bank distributes diapers, wipes and baby food, we would be happy to accept your donation of those items.
