Is there a difference between Edog and great idea?

Take this with the gentle mirth it intends, gents. Out of all the regular poster on this forum I have the most difficulty separating Edog and great idea. Both pretty smart, pretty balanced, reasonably cleaver. But in my mind you are both filed under the same personality (if that makes any sense).

So how are you guys different? Maybe you could have a fake-fight to demonstrate your contrasts? Maybe some of our neighbors who are paying better attention could point out differences?

I know Edog is male but I don't ever recall GI confirming male or female.

They're nothing alike! (Apart from the fact that they both have a HughMungo avatar) Maybe that's confusing you somewhat :-)

I think it's my fault for trying to upstage Edog with a better, more handsome picture of Hugh Grant

here I thought the beans would be adequate to distinguish us.

maybe we're long lost twins separated at birth?
hey Edog, do you feel this???? (I'm pinching myself really hard hoping you'll feel my pain)

I get them confused too. Not that it is a bad thing, since both tend to be reasonable, intelligent and sometimes funny. If they are nothing alike, perhaps you could spell it out, Penny?

Well, maybe I should have said I don't think they're anything alike. Is that better?

I am not sure about better. But like Ballardemician, I sometimes think I am reading an eDog response because of how it sounds, then realize it is Great Idea. So, if you detected differences, maybe provide some guidance?

Anyway, lunch is over. I will check back later and see if it is all solved. It surely is one of the greatest issues facing Ballard, after all.

For starters, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Handsome Boy Modeling School, while Great Idea was never accepted.

P.S. - Great Idea, No I don't feel your pain. Maybe you should eat a egg mayonnaise sandwich past its sell by date and see if I get sick. Tell me how it goes, ok?

Edog provides us with in depth analysis of his dog's poop. And GI provides us with satyrical (no it isn't misspelled) relief.

satyrs are deities of the woods and mountains. They are half human and half beast; they usually have a goat's tail

    yes, that's me all right.

Does anyone remember Gonzo as the satyr in "King Midas" from Muppet Classic Theatre? What fun!

I thought Gonzo was married to a chicken or had lots of chicken girlfriends or something like that?

That's Camilla Edog. Camilla the chicken. But he's a bit of a chicken chaser - not able to commit.

    The Thursday theory?

    Is it 4-10's?

Bingo. I used to think getting anything accomplished on Friday afternoon was pointless.

Welcome to Thursday, the new Friday...

Funny - avatar escapades aside (say that 3 times quickly ;o), I've never had any troubles distinguishing between the two of them - the quality of thought is high in both, but there's a "tone" that always makes it clear who's who saying what to whom, if that makes sense...probably not, operating on too little sleep...;o)

GI, I was thinking more along the lines of Satyricon (Satyrica) but I confess I had to re-read the defintion to make sure it had some relevance.

I must admit I'm not up on my Roman literature, but I saw Satyrica described as "an amused and ironical depiction of what was vulgar, vicious, abnormal, pretentious, avaricious and materialistic in the world of [Petronius’] day.

I suppose if I were able to write in the style of Hunter Thompson, I could bring the whole 'gonzo' thing full-circle, too.

GI, I'm pretty sure you brought it full circle when you imparted the image of E Hurley going down on Gonzo's nose. Ack! (a la Oly's Bill the Cat) what if Gonzo sneezed?

FFS. Hurley of the safety pins is the silly mare who put up with HughMungo for years. She now diddles an Australian cricket player. The lady of the night was Divine Brown. Then again she probably did Gonzo at some point. (Not the muppet, but thinking about it, who knows?)
