It has always been my dream to get riding my bike again. Unfortunately, I've moved and I have to give that dream up. It's not worth having it inside the apartment for the months/year it would take me, tripping over it with my every move.

The bike is not here, so I can't recite branding. It's a women's bike and while it's nothing special, it's not a wreck either. Although currently rideable, it likely does need some maintenance as it was kept outside for a couple years and has since been kept inside for 5 years. Gel seat. Kickstand.

    Phoo, fwiw.

don't give up the dream. There are many here that can spend a little time making your bike ride-able, for when you are ready for it.

I personally still use my old Schwinn, and I installed hooks to keep her out of my way,
(just east of my guitars), and try to ignore jealousy issues ;-)

I just hate the death of any one's dream. A good bike is worth keeping. give it a try?

IIRC it is 5-7 speeds. I am thinking 7, but would rather guess low than high.

The bike IS ridable, just not storable. It is I who is not ready to ride the bike, not the other way around.

I should say that it fits me and I am 5'4". I don't think it would fit someone much smaller, but it could fit someone taller if the seat were raised.

iPlod: Won't you be embarrassed to ride a girl's bike? Apparently that extra bar has macho attached to it. ;)

Mondoman has looked at it and declared it structurally sound (and robust unlike cheap dept store bikes), despite the tires being very flat. It's a 5 speed.

I think you've still got my number, I'd be happy to talk to you further about it.

Geez, I won't be riding it. I need it for a wall decoration.

Plus, you can have your bike back for free any time you wish, phoo.

It is a nice-looking bike, but of course being a women's bike, it's much harder to wrap around people's necks...

Never give in, never surrender! I love that movie . . .

But seriously, I've always kept my bikes inside my apartment.

Two of them, the Flying Bear and Ol' Stumpy, live in a 41 inch wide entryway, thanks to a storage rack that only takes 14 of those inches, bikes included. Rack is very similiar to this:

Iplod, can you email me? It's getting close to crunch time, and it is still a good goal to keep. Let's work something out.

phoo - I really encourage you to keep your bike and ride it, it is so much fun1, but if you want to get rid of it and can't sell it then you can give it to Bike Works:

    :)

VB: Thanks. If I can work something out with Iplod to store it, I think that is my best bet right now. I am not able to ride it now, but I want to in the future. But if I can't store it, then I'll see if I can find a way to get it down to Bike Works, thanks!
